Our team has been working on various websites for various clients. This is the corporate website which also serves as the catalog of around 200 MCs, narrators and event companions coordinated by our client.
We chose to use WordPress with Avada, one of the most powerful theme packages available in the WordPress community. Our client manages content, blog and key visual slider settings by themselves, occasionally having our design and editorial workshops to get used to WordPress system. The CMS keeps evolving and it is important for our clients to keep updated. We think that this occasional workshop routine is one of digital agency’s obligations to make their clients happy.
The WordPress system proved its strength when we incorporated the catalog part of the website, which the client needs to maintain by themselves and the success of the whole project hinges on its quality, easy of use and robustness. We made custom post types for that, using the plugin “Advanced Custom Fields” to customize the data entry form according to our client’s needs. That is pretty much the “standard” solution for WordPress, but it worked very well.
This is the on-going project and we plan to implement WPML to host the English content as well. Our team has been working on WPML in various projects and we like it very much. We have used the other multi-language plugin “qtranslate” as well. Both are good. In our opinion, “qtranslate” is very good for relatively small project because it is free and concise (multiple languages housed in one post/page), whereas WPML is the better solution for larger projects because it is compatible with .pot translation files and better integration with WordPress theme systems.
